Great care starts with great carers.

Come and Join Our Team

Kindred Paediatric Homecare is a new and growing home care service especially for children. The children we support live with a life-limiting condition or injury, and can require support at home on a daily basis or for a short season of recovery.

We believe every child deserves the opportunity to live life to their fullest. Supporting children in their everyday lives helps to strengthen family wellbeing, promotes independence, and supports the conditions for families to thrive. Children and their families deserve to thrive, not just survive.

We value Service, Compassion, Excellence and Community. We work to embody those values in the way we listen to and support children and their families, and deliver professional care with everyday excellence.

"Being a healthcare assistant with Kindred is such a rewarding experience. It’s amazing to get to support tamariki and their whānau and be a part of their journey while making a positive impact in their lives. I’m grateful to work for such a supportive and caring organisation that truly values its staff."

Our values, in practice

Service

Help and support that is child focused, logical and meets the child and family where they need it most.

Compassion

Care and passion for children combined, from people that understand the journey of complex care.

Excellence

Specialist paediatric care from a team who understand complex needs and never stop building on what they know.

Community

Promoting genuine community connection for children and the healthcare professionals who walk alongside them.

What Does Working for Kindred Look Like?

Our support starts with the child's needs, but also extends to their support network. By providing support to primary caregivers, we can create an environment that helps the child feel more secure and settled during a time that can be difficult or uncertain. This is carried out mainly at the child's home, but can extend into their community too — walks to the local park, approved visits, school pick-ups, or support attending appointments.

Specialised care plans are created to help you know where your help is most needed. It can range from supervision and household support to personal cares, nursing support or hospital respite.

We understand this type of care requires preparation and an understanding of how best to deliver your support. So we work with you to orientate and train you to the specific needs of those you'll be assisting. We value you immensely, and know great care starts with great carers.
